What is Render?
Render is a decentralised network in which GPU owners make unused compute power available for 3D rendering, AI workloads and scientific computing. Creative studios and developers can submit jobs to the network and use a global pool of GPUs instead of a central cloud provider. The native token RENDER is used to pay for render work and to reward GPU providers.

How does Render work?
When a client submits a render job, the Render Network Protocol distributes the task across available GPU nodes in the network. Files are transferred encrypted, GPUs do the work and the result is sent back. Nodes receive a payment in RENDER and their reputation is tracked, so clients can pick reliable providers.
The token
Ticker: RENDER
Category: DePIN / GPU compute
Blockchain: Solana
Protocol: SPL Token
Year of launch: 2020
The technology behind Render
The RENDER token launched in 2020 as an ERC-20 on Ethereum (RNDR) and migrated to Solana in 2024 under the ticker RENDER. The project was set up by OTOY, the company behind the OctaneRender software, building on more than a decade of experience in GPU rendering. With the move to Solana, the network benefits from lower costs and higher transaction speeds.
The Render ecosystem
The Render ecosystem includes creative professionals, studios and AI companies that use the network for rendering and machine learning. Because of growing demand for GPU compute power for AI, Render is expanding into workloads beyond pure 3D rendering. There is also an active community around OctaneRender and related creative software.
Who founded Render?
Render was set up by Jules Urbach, founder and CEO of OTOY, a software company that develops the OctaneRender engine, among others. Governance runs through the Render Network Foundation, in which RENDER holders have voting rights on proposals that affect the protocol and tokenomics.
