We help people make the move to the new crypto economy. We build the infrastructure and products that grow alongside the adoption of crypto: from learning to investing, all the way to the moment when Bitcoin becomes a natural part of everyday life.

In doing so, we focus on simplicity, reliability and human support. No jargon, no barriers that don't need to be there, and always a team that's ready to help when you have questions.

Money is the foundation of our civilisation. We believe Bitcoin is the best form of money that has ever existed, and that it will inevitably grow into the global standard.

Money is changing. But for many people, crypto is still too complex. BTC Direct makes that step understandable and accessible. We're building the infrastructure that makes it easier for Europeans to use Bitcoin and crypto, accelerating adoption on the way to that future.

Our goal is ambitious: a world in which half the population owns bitcoin before the end of this decade. That's not a promise of returns, it's a direction. We do our part by keeping access simple.

Six convictions guide everything we build:

1. Money is shifting from national to digital and global. What was local and physical for centuries is becoming open and borderless.
2. Bitcoin and crypto form the basis of a new financial system. Not a replacement of existing structures, but an addition that opens up new possibilities.
3. Access to crypto should be simple and understandable. Anyone who wants to take part should be able to, without having to become an expert first.
4. Trust is essential for adoption. That's why we work transparently, under regulation, and with human service.
5. Rules are part of a mature financial system. We handle them as smoothly as possible, so they offer safety without creating unnecessary hurdles.
6. Technology should adapt to the user, not the other way around. Simplicity starts with our work, not with what we ask of customers.

Three principles guide how we work every day:

In 2013, Mike, Davy and Mark were sitting in a café in Nijmegen. Anyone who wanted to buy their first bitcoin back then had to wait weeks for international transfers, learn to navigate complex exchanges, and hope everything would arrive in the end. It could be easier. So they started BTC Direct.

Today, we work with a team of over 40 colleagues from a single office in Nijmegen. We serve customers in every SEPA country, in five languages, with the same idea as back then: getting your first bitcoin should be simple.
