What is Quant?
Quant is a network focused on interoperability between different blockchains and existing IT systems. Through the Overledger platform, developers and businesses can build applications that work with multiple chains at once. The native token QNT is used to obtain Overledger licences and as a means of payment for using the network.

How does Quant work?
Quant consists of two layers: the Overledger platform and the QNT token. Overledger acts as an 'API layer' on top of multiple blockchains, allowing applications (mApps) to communicate with several chains without developers having to write separate code for each chain. QNT holders pay for the annual Overledger licences needed to run mApps.

The technology behind Quant
Overledger uses a patented architecture that can read, write and verify transactions on different chains through a single standardised interface. The network is explicitly aimed at enterprise clients and regulators, and is used for projects around CBDCs, payments and cross-chain settlement. QNT itself is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.
The Quant ecosystem
Quant works with central banks, financial institutions and software vendors on pilots and implementations around cross-chain interoperability and CBDCs. The ecosystem is more enterprise-oriented and less DeFi-oriented than many other crypto projects.
Who founded Quant?
Quant Network was founded by Gilbert Verdian, an experienced professional in cybersecurity and standardisation. Verdian was previously involved in the development of international blockchain standards within ISO. The team further consists of experts from the financial and enterprise IT sectors.
